Thomas Nelson, Inc. broke a new record last week with Ricardo Montaner’s <em><strong>Lo Que No Digo Cantando</strong></em>.  For the first time in its 200-year history, the publisher broke the top ten on the Amazon bestseller list for a non-English-language title. On Wednesday, October 21, <em><strong>Lo Que No Digo Cantando</strong></em> hit #4 on the “Books in Spanish” bestseller list on <a href="http://www.amazon.com" target="_blank">Amazon</a>.</p>
<p>Ricardo Montaner is one of the most celebrated artists in the Spanish-speaking world thanks to his endless search for new styles and, at the same time, his firm roots in the romantic ballad tradition. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and raised in Maracaibo, Venezuela, Ricardo has traveled a road that has taken him to the most prestigious arenas in the continent, from Luna Park in Buenos Aires to Madison Square Garden in New York, from the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City to Teresa Carreño in Caracas.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>(Nashville, TN) Grupo Nelson, the Spanish division of Thomas Nelson, announced today that it will no longer participate in the Spanish Christian Book Fairs known as Expolit (Miami, FL) and Expo Cristiana (Mexico).“We have been discussing this move for quite some time,” said Vice President &amp; Publisher, Larry A. Downs.  “New market trends are forcing us to re-evaluate the expenditure of every marketing dollar; consequently, we have determined that, for Grupo Nelson, these trade shows provide very little return on a very significant investment.”</p>
<p>“Historically, trade shows have played an important role in publishing and bookselling,” Downs said. “Today the communication flow is constant, and we can no longer justify the enormous costs associated with these events.”</p>
<p>“We are also considering additional channel management strategies to support our customers. Our goal is to create relevant plans for each sales channel that will reinforce their business and their relationship with us,” concluded Downs.</p>
<p>Grupo Nelson will continue to be at trade shows where they believe there is a strong return – especially in growing markets, or market share trade shows. An example of this is their sustained participation at the Guadalajara Mexico Book Fair this November, where the publishing firm will showcase its products once again.</p>
