THOMAS NELSON ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP TEAM

(Nashville, Tenn.) Today Thomas Nelson’s Chief Executive Officer Michael Hyatt announced changes to his executive leadership team. The changes were made to more tightly align sales, marketing, and publishing, while placing product development directly under his oversight.

Mark Schoenwald immediately assumes the duties of President and Chief Operating Officer. All of the company’s publishing, marketing, and sales will be consolidated under him. Schoenwald, who has served as Nelson’s Chief Sales Officer since 2004, will continue to report to Hyatt. READ MORE »

Scribd Partners with Major Publishers to Bring Books, Exclusive Content to Community of More Than 50 Million

Random House, Simon & Schuster Among Brands Distributing Works on Scribd

SAN FRANCISCO – March 18, 2009 – Scribd, Inc., the world’s largest social publishing website, today announced that it has partnered with major publishers to bring books and other professional works to its community of more than 50 million readers. Random House, Simon & Schuster, Workman Publishing Co., Berrett-Koehler, Thomas Nelson and Manning Publications are among the companies uploading and sharing entire novels, sneak preview chapters and exclusive excerpts from best-selling authors and book series, for free on Scribd.com.

“These partnerships help cement Scribd’s position as the online destination for readers while giving publishers a completely fresh platform to reach a new audience of millions,” said Trip Adler, CEO and co-founder of Scribd. “Now, in addition to original writings and documents contributed by our users – short stories, research reports, even recipes and sheet music – readers can discover premium works by best-selling authors on Scribd.”

Media brands already using Scribd to embed documents on their own websites include The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, NPR, Fox Business News, and many others. More than 50,000 new documents are uploaded daily using Scribd’s iPaper reader, a technology that makes it easy to upload, share and embed original writings and documents in their “printed” layouts, regardless of file format. Scribd documents are indexed by all major search engines, making them easily discoverable by more than 1 billion Internet users worldwide.

Thomas Nelson Veteran Dale Wilstermann to Lead Marketing for the Non-Fiction Trade Group

Wilstermann has spent the last three years at Thomas Nelson, in the positions of both Vice President of ABA Religious Sales and Vice President of E-tailer Sales - where he has guided Thomas Nelson’s online sales division.  Wilstermann brings more than 15 years of sales and retail experience into the job, including extensive time at both Strang Communications and Integrity Publishers.

Thomas Nelson Dominates Publishers Weekly’s 2008 Hardcover Religion Bestseller List

 

(Nashville, Tenn.) Publishers Weekly announced in their January 19 issue that Thomas Nelson secured roughly a quarter of of the available hardcover religion bestseller spots. The company had seven titles appear for a total of 29 times on hardcover religion bestsellers monthly list, the most for any publisher. The 2008 Publishers Weekly Hardcover Religion Bestsellers from Thomas Nelson are Jesus Calling by Sarah Young, What in the World is Going On? by David Jeremiah, Love & Respect by Emerson Eggerichs, Sinner by Ted Dekker, 3:16 by Max Lucado, Intelligence for Your Life by John Tesh, and Walking with God by John Eldredge.
