A voracious reader practically from birth, Heather Adams can’t believe her good fortune to work where she can combine two passions: reading and public relations. Many a photo from childhood has her nose peeking out over a good Nancy Drew novel or Judy Blume classic. Bulldogs adorn her office, as she is an avid supporter and graduate of The University of Georgia – the fact they boast one of the top journalism schools in the country is always a plus. Fall weekends she’s easy to locate – whenever her coveted Dawgs are playing in Athens (God’s country), she’s decked out in red and black and playing hostess to her tailgating companions (with silver and crystal, of course).
Adams joined the Thomas Nelson team in August 2003, when she married a Nashville boy and he drug her away from her native Atlanta. She currently serves as the Director of Publicity. With experience in launching more than twenty New York Times best selling books, Heather has been privileged to work on projects by luminaries including Max Lucado, Marcus Buckingham, Billy Graham, John Eldredge, John Maxwell, John MacArthur (Yes, she almost always requires her author’s name is John), Robin McGraw, Charles Stanley, and Anne Graham Lotz.
She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, the Entertainment Publicists Professional Society, the Publishers Publicity Association and the Association of American Publishers. A big fan of giving back to your community, Adams is involved with the Junior League of Nashville and the Nashville Alumnae Chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi, where she serves as the Chapter Advisor at Middle Tennessee State University (and lives out her youth vicariously through her girls). She was recently selected as a member of the 2008-09 Leadership Rutherford class.
Heather is married to Matthew Adams and has a son, Dixon Elam. She claims her biggest accomplishment is that Dixon can say “thank you” and “please” at one-year-old! They reside in Murfreesboro, TN.

Erwin McManus’ New Book Encourages Readers to Live Their Potential
McManus single-handedly shatters every standard expectation of a “pastor” to emerge as the bold new face of post-modern Christianity: Part rock star, artist, visionary, and inspirational leader, he motivates, enlightens and entertains thousands people each year with his dramatic life story and insight. In an era when church attendance has plummeted to an all-time record low with less than 18% of the U.S. population attending church and church leaders struggling to attract young people in the face of rapidly aging congregations, Erwin McManus has succeeded in attracting the younger generations and has built a congregation with an average age of 25. His visionary insight is equally sought out by CEO’s and major corporations and universities ranging from Columbia to the NFL. He regularly shares the stage in front of audiences of thousands with national leaders, luminaries, and celebrities ranging from Colin Powell to Al Gore, Larry King, Bono, and Robin Williams at top conferences such as TED and Catalyst. Yes, Hear His Voice. Really.
God speaks to people today just as He did in biblical times—in actual conversation, person-to-person, says author John Eldredge. The best-selling author, whose books have sold eight million copies to date, is known for pushing readers out of their comfort zones, beyond the safe Christian life that many settle for. Now, in his new book Walking with God (Thomas Nelson, $22,99, April 2008), he goes even deeper, showing what it means to talk with God. Not one-sided prayers or monologues directed at God, but two-sided conversation.
Hearing God speak in this way is not just for biblical heroes or saints. “An intimate, conversational walk with God is available, and is meant to be normal,” says Eldredge. In fact, he believes, “if you don’t find that kind of relationship with God, your spiritual life will be stunted.” He bases these assumptions on the nature of God and of man, who are communicators, and on the nature of relationship, which requires communication. He points to the Scriptures, which are filled with stories of God speaking to His people, and finally, to the teachings of Jesus, who says that His sheep hear His voice. READ MORE »
