Beth Hood started at Thomas Nelson in June of 2006. Beginning as publicist for Children’s and Gift, Beth increased media exposure for her division and landed children’s author Phil Vischer in over 75 publications; an unheard of hit rate for an inspirational children’s picture book. Recently transferred to the area of Practical Living, Hood is currently responsible for garnering media attention for authors such as John Townsend, Janine Turner, and SQuire Rushnell and Louise DuArt. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Mass Communications and Marketing. A former spokesperson for former Tennessee Governor Don Sunquist, Hood traveled 50,000 miles across Tennessee representing the state’s Drug Free TN campaign. FY09 Focus: Beth’s focus will be to liaise with outside PR firms who promote Practical Living titles and to establish new relationships with producers and editors who focus on Practical Living - specific categories.
