Thomas Nelson Nominated for Eight Outreach Awards

(Nashville, Tenn.) Thomas Nelson, Inc. announced today that they have been nominated for eight Outreach Awards. The awards are given annually by Outreach magazine to celebrate and encourage excellence in resources designed to specifically help the Church reach out in areas such as evangelism, compassionate service and cross-cultural ministries locally and worldwide.
Expert panelists will select winners for each category. The Sixth Annual Outreach Award winners will be announced in the March/April issue of the magazine.

Christian Publishing Sales Legend Ronald Land Passed Away At Age 68


(Nashville, Tenn.) Long-time publishing executive Ronald Land died on Monday, November 24, in Round Rock, Texas.  An ordained pastor and Bible teacher, Land’s association with Christian publishing spans over three decades. From his start with Word Publishing in 1978 until he left Thomas Nelson in 2006 as the Senior Vice President of Mass Market Sales, Ron’s contribution to Christian publishing was immeasurable.

 

“Ron Land will always have a special place in my heart,” said Michael S. Hyatt, Thomas Nelson President and Chief Executive Officer. “We started our publishing careers together in adjacent offices in Waco, Texas at Word, Inc. I personally witnessed Ron’s incredible drive and commitment to excellence. He was always learning and constantly sharing his heart and life with others. He was truly a legend in our industry, and will be greatly missed.”
