Nelson Wins Nine 2008 Retailer’s Choice Awards
(Nashville, Tenn.) Thomas Nelson, Inc. was awarded nine of Christian Retailing’s 2008 Retailer’s Choice Awards. The awards were announced on Monday, July 14th at the International Christian Retail Show in Orlando, Florida. Thomas Nelson received more than twice the wins of any other publishing house and walked away with almost a third of the cumulative awards.
“There are two things about Retailer’s Choice Awards that make them among the highest honors in this industry,” said Michael S. Hyatt, President and CEO of Thomas Nelson. “First, the awards are selected by Christian retailers, who work on the front lines to help Christians strengthen their spiritual journey. Second, the awards are judged on a product’s ability to inspire, encourage, and affirm Godly living. I am so proud of the entire Thomas Nelson team.”
The Thomas Nelson winners are:
• The Word of Promise New Testament Audio Bible (Books/Bibles)
• Nelson’s Cross Reference Guide to the Bible by Jerome Smith (Bible Reference/Bible Studies)
• The Message- NKJV Parallel Bible (Bibles – General)

I am very excited that my book, Nelson’s Cross Reference Guide to the Bible, is the final winner for the Bible reference, Bible study category, and received the 2008 Retailer’s Choice Award.
Anyone who loves the Bible, who enjoys reading the Bible, will find Nelson’s Cross Reference Guide to the Bible will illuminate God’s word, verse by verse, for every verse and subject in the Bible.
Whether a Bible reader is interested in Bible prophecy (try the references given at Luke 17:37 and compare with other study resources available), guidance (Psalm +23:3), cause-effect relationship Bible study (Psalm 9:10), divine healing (Psalm 103:3), Biblical reasons for unanswered prayer (Psalm +66:18), prayer promises (Luke 11:9), the names of God (Exodus 15:26), the attributes of God (Matthew 28:19), or any other Bible subject or verse you might think of, turn first for help to the passage in Nelson’s Cross Reference Guide to the Bible.
You cannot study individual verses (like John 5:24) effectively using even an exhaustive concordance, but you can study them using Nelson’s Cross Reference Guide to the Bible, for it links not just words, but thoughts and related ideas expressed in different words.
This book works great for individual, family, or Sunday school class Bible study. I use it at home, and we each take our turn looking up the cross references in turn, reading them aloud, and discussing as appropriate. It is an enlightening and instructive experience to let the Bible explain itself.
I use the Nelson’s Cross Reference Guide to the Bible every day! If you are at all interested in the Bible, you should too! The more you use it, the better it gets.
When you engage in real Bible study, Nelson’s Cross Reference Guide to the Bible ought to be the first resource you turn to!
